Wissam Shawkat
Wissam Shawkat is a master of Arabic calligraphy and a graphic designer. He developed his own style at the crossroads of traditional craftsmanship and contemporary aesthetics. Showcased across the world, Wissam’s work resonates with a wide range of audiences and testifies to the fact that calligraphy knows no boundaries.
Wissam taught the participants the foundations of Arabic calligraphy during the first week of the program. The focus of 2016 was in the Primary Kufic, Thuluth and Ruq'ah styles.
